Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When you enter a name, case number, or other term into a search feature, the query is sent to the outside provider operating that feature. The provider processes the query and supplies any result. Faribault County Court Docket does not keep or log the individual search terms entered through those tools.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we retain the message and related contact details for the purpose of responding. We do not disclose that correspondence outside our organization unless disclosure is required by a legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers may receive ordinary technical details when a page is requested, including:
- The IP address associated with the connection
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on each page
- The referring site, when one is supplied
- Page-view timestamps
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored by a browser. We may use them and analytics services to understand site traffic, identify frequently used pages, and diagnose performance issues. You can limit or block cookies through browser settings, although some site functions may work differently as a result.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and contact information may be used for the following operational purposes:
- Operating and maintaining the site
- Sending a query to the provider selected by a visitor
- Assessing page usefulness and site performance
- Finding and correcting technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may be interest-based
No Court-Record Data on File
Faribault County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case-record information. The site provides general directions to Faribault County Court Administration, Faribault County District Court, Minnesota Court Records Online, and other official resources. It does not create consumer reports or assemble visitor data into records about third parties, and it is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search features may be operated by outside companies. Information submitted to a partner tool is governed by that partner’s privacy policy and its own retention and sharing practices. Faribault County Court Docket does not control those policies. Review the provider’s terms before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
The site links to court, Court Administration, statewide public-access, legal-aid, and other resources. Following an external link takes you to a separate service with its own privacy terms. Review those terms before providing personal information there.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and display targeted advertising. That activity is handled on the partner’s systems, not by Faribault County Court Docket.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be shared with:
- Search partners that process a query submitted through a site feature
- Analytics providers used to measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that serve advertising on the site
- Government or law-enforcement entities when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use reasonable security practices for the data we collect. No internet-connected system can guarantee absolute security, so a breach-free result cannot be promised. We take steps intended to reduce risk and protect information in our possession.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information to us, contact us so the issue can be reviewed and the information deleted where appropriate.
Your Data Rights
Requests about access to Faribault County court records are governed primarily by the Minnesota Rules of Public Access to Records of the Judicial Branch, not a generic public-record law. Rule 2 establishes a presumption of access subject to exceptions; Rule 8 addresses inspection, copying, bulk access, and remote access; and Rule 9 provides a written appeal route to the State Court Administrator after an access denial or limitation.
For personal information that you have provided directly to this site, you may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of information held about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Delete information where appropriate
- Stop certain processing where a request can be honored
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy as operations or legal requirements change. A revised version will be posted here with an updated effective date. The Minnesota Judicial Branch reported public-access-rule amendments effective August 26, 2025; court-record access information should be checked against the current rule text.
Effective date: August 27, 2026
